Payments
Deposit
An upfront portion of the total fee paid before work begins to secure the booking and cover costs.
What it means in practice
The deposit is usually credited toward the final contracted amount and becomes due before production starts. The agreement should define refundability, cancellation treatment, payment timing, and any expenses covered.
Why it matters
A deposit reduces the creator's exposure to upfront costs and last-minute cancellation.
How it is used
A creator collects the agreed deposit before purchasing props and reserving production time for a UGC shoot.
