Permission from music rights holders to synchronize a recording with moving images in a specific project.
What it means in practice
Using a commercial track commonly requires permission for the underlying composition and, when applicable, the specific sound recording. The license may limit platforms, territories, duration, edits, paid promotion, and the particular video in which the music appears.
Why it matters
An incomplete music clearance can lead to muted audio, blocked content, takedowns, or infringement claims.
