The number of individual images recorded or played each second, which affects motion smoothness and slow motion capability.
What it means in practice
Capture frame rate controls how motion is sampled by the camera, while playback settings determine how those frames appear on the timeline. Footage recorded for slow motion is conformed during editing so movement plays back over a longer duration.
Why it matters
Mismatched frame-rate choices can produce inconsistent motion, playback artifacts, or limited slow-motion options.
